Before meeting with us
Guidance for the journey ahead
To help make the funeral arrangement as smooth and meaningful as possible, we recommend that families take some time to gather any necessary information and discuss initial preferences beforehand.
This may include:
- Preferencing around Burial or Cremation
- Considering location preferences for the service and/or refreshments
- Selecting what type of service is the right fit for your family; please see more information on Funeral service formats
- Choosing any specific traditions or rituals to be included
- What are the special ways you may like to personalise your goodbye
- Do you have a budget or financial idea of costs you would like to be aware of. Please see Funeral Costs Page for more helpful advice.
We will also need certain personal and family information so we can finalise the legalities with Births, Deaths and Marriages. From experience we have found that if you have Birth Certificates or Marriage certificates this can be helpful to bring.
Information needed if able:
- Full legal name, date and place of birth
- Last residential address and Occupation
- Pension type and Customer Reference Number (CRN), and/or Veterans affairs Reference Number
- Parents full names (including maiden name and/or previous surnames) and occupations for both
- Any legal marriages including full names of spouse, date and location of marriage.
- Any biological children, including full legal names (Including maiden names), dates of birth, gender and life status
- Additionally, you might want to bring along any important documents, such as a will or pre-arranged funeral plans, if applicable.
If you are able to provide Clothes and any items you wish to go with your loved one at the original arrangement this is ideal.
We understand that this is an emotional time, so our team is here to guide and support you every step of the way, ensuring that the service reflects your loved one’s wishes and honors their memory in a way that feels right for your family
Please keep in mind that this appointment can take up to 2 hours.
